Zayd ibn Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him) loved the Prophet (peace be upon him). Zayd was Khadijah’s slave who she gave to the Prophet as a gift when the Prophet married her. The Prophet (peace be upon him) adopted Zayd before Islam prohibited adoption. Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) was the first slave to enter Islam [Prophet’s Biography by Ibn Hesham].
