Buhran military operation…Banu Saleem fleed from meeting the Prophet (3 A.H.)

When and where was Buhran military operation?

This operation took place in the month of Rabi’ah Al-Akhira, 3 A.H., in Buhran, which is in the valley of Hajar in Al-Hijaz.

Who was the leader of the military operation of Buhran?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the leader of the military operation of Buhran against the tribe of Banu Saleem.

Events of the military operation of Buhran

The Prophet (peace be upon him) left Medinah heading for Quraish. He (peace be upon him) left Abdullah ibn Um Maktoum to run  the affairs in Medinah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) left with 300 of his Companions. They travelled until they reached Buhran, where they found a group of people from Banu Saleem who had left their main camp. The Prophet (peace be upon him) then set up camp there, and finally returned without any fighting. He was away from Medinah for 10 nights.

This is according to the report of Al-Hallaby. Therefore, the Prophet (peace be upon him) overcame Banu Saleem three times. One time straight after Badr, on this military operation, and also the military operation of Thi Amr which happened in 3 A.H.

Results of the Buhran expedition

There was no fighting on this expedition, as the tribe fled before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions reached this location.

What lessons do we learn from Buhran expedition?

Allah (Glorified is He) supports His slaves by placing fear in the hearts of the enemy during any campaign. The plots of the disbelievers did not stop after the victories of Islam.
